Hatton National Bank (HNB) being one of the largest private sector financial facilitators in the country took a leading step towards the eastern coast’s first boutique hotel development Maalu Maalu Resort & Spa opened recently.
This is the first resort to be opened under the government.’s “Nagenahira Navodaya” accelerated reconstruction programme. The project was conceived by Connaissance de Ceylan Chairman Chandra Wickramasinghe. HNB was the hotel’s sole financier completed within a short period of 10 months. This boutique hotel is located at Pasikudah and comprises 40 rooms with private dining deck and Jacuzzi in line with international standards. HNB has also joined hands with other developments towards meeting the country’s 8,000 room target in the east and 50,000 rooms countrywide to facilitate expected tourist arrivals.
