Launches series of special benefits & privileges for customers of special unit

The Commercial Bank of Ceylon has unveiled a new echelon in customer relationship management with the launch of ‘Elite,’ a portfolio of exclusive special privileges and benefits designed for a select segment of customers to be served at the new Elite Branch of the bank which has been rated as Sri Lanka’s best by many reputed international Banking publications.

A well-appointed private residence at Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7, replete with private meeting rooms, a Wi Fi lounge and safety lockers, in addition to the comprehensive facilities of a branch that will offer personalised service, was declared open by Commercial Bank Chairman Mahendra Amarasuriya on Thursday, 25 August for the use of the bank’s elite customers.
Dedicated relationship officers will be on hand to take care of the daily financial needs of these customers, and to offer investment advice and updates on latest developments in the banking sector, the bank said.
 Among these special privileges is a host of banking services free of charge. These include debit cards, internet banking, tele-banking, mobile phone banking, balance confirmation, registration for and payment of utility bills and fund transfers. The bank will also offer special rates on the issue and encashment of travellers cheques, foreign currency and foreign drafts and on the issue of credit cards and cheque books.
Commercial Bank has also secured for elite customers a wide range of priority services and discounts at leading providers of healthcare packages and diagnostic tests, local and overseas travel assistance, home or apartment maintenance, pharmaceuticals, spa and beauty treatment and flowers and gifts.
“A bank plays an indispensable part in the growth and success of individuals and institutions,” Commercial Bank Managing Director Amitha Gooneratne observed, adding, “We appreciate the effort, commitment and consistency that are behind the success of our elite customers, and believe that such success must be rewarded with privileges.”
He said the launch of the bank’s Elite Branch and the portfolio of special benefits could also be motivational to customers aspiring to belong to this exclusive group.
Commercial Bank’s Elite Branch is located at No. 7, Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7, and will be open five days a week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The branch is computer-linked to all other branches and service points of the bank islandwide, enabling online real-time banking. Its ATM machine is linked to 434 other ATMs of Commercial Bank in Sri Lanka and over one million terminals of the Cirrus (MasterCard) and Visa networks worldwide.
Established in 1969, Commercial Bank is the largest private bank in Sri Lanka, and operates a network of 200 computer-linked service points and the country’s single largest ATM network of 435 terminals. The bank has been adjudged ‘Best Bank in Sri Lanka’ for 13 consecutive years by ‘Global Finance’ Magazine and has won multiple awards as the country’s best bank from ‘The Banker,’ ‘FinanceAsia,’ ‘Euromoney’ and ‘Trade Finance’ magazines. The bank’s operations in Bangladesh comprise of 17 service points.
