PRESIDENT ARRIVES IN NEW YORK FOR UN SESSIONS
President Rajapaksa has reached New York to attend the 66th UN General Assembly Sessions.The President who left the island yesterday arrived in New York yesterday at 6.00 p.m. New York time. The President is joined by First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa. The President was welcomed by Sri Lanka’s Permanent Representative at the UN Dr. Palitha Kohona and the Deputy Ambassador Major General Shavendra Silva.
The President is due to participate in the Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting today. He will be among top political and business leaders to attend the event. It is the seventh in the annual meeting series.
