Mahinda Rajapaksa still has the opportunity to think about the party and come to certain decision.

JVP, Politburo Member, Wasantha Samarasinghe stated that major accusations on fraud were leveled at Ranil Wickremesinghe’s friend over the Central Bank Bond issue, as he is still the Governor of the Central Bank.

In February, another bond issue was held and an announcement was made that 40 billion will be raised and then accept bids up to 80 billion. They renew the same old transaction and for the past year, the company that has purchased and sold the most amount of bonds in the primary market, is the Central Bank Governor’s son-in-law’s company.

Explaining further, he added that EPF amounts to 1300 billion as it makes direct bids or invest, but instead, what is being done now is that the EPF is buying bonds from the primary traders. When bonds worth 1000 million are sold to the EPF at the one percent discount price, with a reduced interest rate, when the bonds mature, the EPF incurs a loss of 80 million on the interest.

He added that they told the government previously, that this sort of theft must be halted.
