Winner of the Best Boutique Hotel award at the Sri Lanka Tourism Awards 2010 and a prestigious member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, has been awarded Winner of the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2011 for the – Country Winner for Luxury Beach Resort in Sri Lanka for the Consecutive Second Year.
Deputy Chairman/Chief Executive, Anura Lokuhetty commented, “We are very happy to receive such praise as we have worked hard to achieve international standards. We pride ourselves on our service and high standards of hospitality and continually listen to our guests to ensure they have a memorable experience.”

The World Luxury Hotel Awards celebrate the world’s finest hotels committed to the highest standards of quality service and was founded on the principle that celebrated extraordinary hotels with attentive service will encourage and maintain excellence within a highly competitive industry. It is all about congratulating hotels that have taken the extra step by providing their guests with outstanding experiences and as such proven to be part of the “very rare legendary hotel” association.
The driving force behind the World Luxury Hotel Awards established in 2006 was to unite the worldwide luxury hotel industry and honour recognisable legendary hotels with regards to facilities and overall service excellence.
The World Luxury Hotel Awards believe that the overall guest experience is one of the most critical factors in a hotel’s measure as a luxury hotel, said Marinique Truter, Manager, World Luxury Hotel Awards.
“Outstanding properties are those that surprise the guest with unexpected experience bonuses, experiences that are more about recognition of the guest other than the thread count”. Truter commented, “Growing numbers of luxury travellers around the world seeking excellent value, impeccable service and the highest quality are now making a point of checking to see who has won a World Luxury Hotel Award before making their own holiday choice. The Ultimate Hotel Guide featuring our Award Winners has become increasingly popular amongst travel agents & tour operators that utilise it for global reservations”.
2011 Global and Country winners included hotels from Australia to Zambia, complimenting some of the world’s leading hotel groups such as Sofitel, the Ritz Carlton, Fairmount, Dusit International, Westin Hotels & Resorts and Hilton amongst others.
