GMOA holds media briefing over state of Negombo Central Hospital
A media briefing was called by the Government Medical Officers Association to express views on the unstable condition of the Negombo Central Hospital.
Government Medical Officer’s Association Media Spokesperson,Dr. Naveen de Soysa charged that for a while now, the building behind the Negombo Central Hospital has been in an unstable condition and the building was built back in 2000 costing millions. He stated however that by 2014 the building was in an unstable condition.
“We have not seen any action take place yet with regard to this matter”,said the GMOA spokesperson who pointed out that these patients have their X-Rays taken with torches held.
He added that in case of an issue with regard to a patient’s necessities, the full responsibility falls on the hospital’s staff led by its doctors and employing doctors who are careless is a fault of the hospital itself.
