First CISSP CBK boot camp in Sri Lanka next Tuesday

The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team Coordination Centre (Sri Lanka CERTCC) will host an information security event at Earls Court, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo on 18 October.
Called the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) boot camp, the event aims at teaching participants real-world information security skills and making a review. The review referred to will be on the essential elements of the 10 CISSP CBK domains. An upcoming CISSP examination will also be held in Colombo on 23 October.  

This is the first time that a CISSP CBK boot camp is being held in Sri Lanka, according to Sri Lanka CERT COO Lal Dias. In conjunction with Internet Systems Consortium (ISC)2 will host a one-day Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) boot camp for the first time in Sri Lanka on October 18 at Earls Court, Cinnamon Lakeside, Colombo.
The boot camp is intended to teach participants real-world information security skills and to review the essential elements of the 10 CISSP CBK domains. An upcoming CISSP examination will be held on 23 October in Colombo.
Explaining the CISSP credential and domains, Dias said: “The CISSP credential is suitable for an information security professional who defines the architecture, design, management and/or controls that assure the security of business environments, while the CISSP domains are drawn from various information security topics within the (ISC)2 CBK.”
Speaking about the camp Dias said: “The boot camp will be conduct by Avinash Kadam, CISSP, CSSLP, (ISC)2 authorised instructor.
Kadam is a leading authority on information security in India as well as globally, with four decades of experience in information technology management, information systems auditing and information security consulting and teaching. He is responsible for the Education Services Division at MIEL, the official education affiliate of (ISC)2 in India.”
Kadam is a lead instructor who is certified to teach courses such as CISSP, CSSLP, CISA, CISM, CGEIT, BCMS, Cobit Foundation, and ISMS Lead Auditor. Special pricing of US$ 32 or Rs. 3,500 is available exclusively for candidates who have already registered for the CISSP exam; the normal fee is US$ 45.
