Motorists affected by substandard petrol to be compensated
Compensation for motorists whose vehicles were damaged due to substandard petrol are to receive compensation before November 15, the Ceyon Petroleum Corporations (CPC) said.
The CPC stated that it will compensate around 3300 vehicle owners who
made complaints regarding damages while adding that compensation had
been delayed in certain cases due to complainants not presenting the
necessary documentation.
The issue of the controversial stock of petrol commenced a few months ago. The committee appointed to look into the matter recommended the persons whose vehicles were damaged to be paid compensation and the damages to be levied from the supplier.
