RECORD INCOME FROM COCONUT ARRACK AND VINEGAR EXPORTS
Export earnings from coconut arrack and coconut vinegar have increased by 128 percent.
The Coconut Development and People’s Estate Development Ministry said that the sum earned through such exports within the last six months was 10.27 million rupees. 22,575 litres of coconut arrack had been exported during this period, while 9530 litres of coconut vinegar had also been exported during the period under review. Earnings through coconut arrack and coconut vinegar during the first six months of last year were only 4.49 million rupees. Accordingly, the Coconut Development Ministry said that a record income had so far been earned this year through the export of coconut-based products.
