EPF WILL NOT BE VESTED IN ANY PARTY – CB CHIEF
Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabral has said that they had no intention of vesting the Employees Provident in another party. He was speaking at the relocation of the EPF Department at a new venue.
The Employees Provident Fund Department has been relocated in the Lloyds Building at Sir Baron Jayatilleke Mawatha in Colombo One. Governor Ajith Nivard Cabral declared open it. Accordingly all activities of the Department including Public Relations and Inquiries, contributions and handing over of cheques, which hitherto took place at the Ceylinco Building, have been relocated in this building.
Speaking on the occasion, the Central Bank Governor said that various international agencies were calling on Sri Lanka to hand over to various foreign firms the administration of the EPF. He emphatically mentioned that they had no intention of handing over the EPF to foreigners or any other party. The same should be told to the citizens of this country and also to the employers.
