INDIAN CONGRESS MP DOES NOT ENDORSE THE PROPAGANDA OF DIASPORA ON SRI LANKA

Indian Congress Parliamentarian Sudarshan Nachchiappan has emphatically mentioned that the propaganda carried out by the Diaspora with regard to Sri Lanka cannot be endorsed. He invited the Diaspora to visit their motherland and witness the real situation.

In a special interview with the BBC Tamil Service, the Indian Congress member pointed out that he visited Sri Lanka only after two years. There were only barren lands in the North earlier. But it has now been nurtured with cultivations. It was very much secure at present. The civilians are leading happy lives in a very peaceful atmosphere. Abduction of children is no taking place as the LTTE did in the past. The children are attending schools sans any fear and suspicion. The civilians are also visiting Kovils and Churches for the profession of their faith without any fear. Those who say that what the Sri Lanka Government was doing was all wrong, do not think in a positive way. Certain media also saw his tour in this manner.
Mr. Nachchiappan said that he visited Sri Lanka at his wish. He saw all these things with his own eyes. That was the truth. No one in the world can look the other way. Those who are against the Northerners living happily are carrying out these misleading campaigns. He said he wished to make an appeal from the Diaspora. It was fruitless to carry out false propaganda on the North and also on websites. He requested the Diaspora to visit their motherland once and stay at least for a minute and return. Then they could have a clear awareness on the peaceful environment. The Indian Congress member also made a fervent appeal from the Diaspora not to denigrate their motherland
