Sri Lanka is an emerging country: WTM Report
The World Travel Market 2011 report has highlighted Sri Lanka among five other nations which have future growth potential.
According to the WTM latest report Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico and Argentina has been earmarked as new emerging countries behind BRIC nations Brazil, Russia, India, China and most recently South Africa.
Sri Lanka has been included in the WTM emerging markets list taking into consideration the nation’s re-emergence after the end of the civil war, its investments to develop the infrastructure and also owing to the countries natural beauty.
WTM report credited Indonesia for its diversity, growing population and high levels of disposable income.
Malaysia has been described as an Asian country with more freedom than others in the region, with a developing tourism industry and aggressive marketing campaigns.
Mexico’s improved infrastructure, low taxes and high disposable income were highlighted, while Argentina was seen as an up-and-coming destination enjoying positive growth and offering good value to holidaymakers.
