President Maithripala Sirisena met with the staff of the central bank this afternoon. Views were exchanged during the meeting on the current economic situation of the country. During the meeting President Maithripala Sirisena stated that he hopes to obtain the views of all parties when creating the future economic framework of the country ..
President Sirisena noted that in order to create a prosperous country that is economically strong there needs to be a political backing, active participation and patronage from all parties.
He added that even though the chance is not present to meet them frequently plenty of financial experts are present in these institutions which is why a meeting was set up suddenly. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also took part in the meeting held this evening.
