Greenwood County woman charged with child neglect
A Greenwood County woman has been charged with neglect after school officials noticed bruises on her sons' legs.
Thirty-one-one-year-old Amy Elizabeth Rion-Wilson was arrested after the principal at Springfield Elementary School said she was concerned about a 7-year-old boy and an 11-year-old boy.A sheriff's report says the boys told deputies their mother had whipped them because they were not working fast enough at their mother's puppy mill. They said they sometimes didn't finish until 1 a.m. The boys have been placed in emergency protective custody. It wasn't clear if Rion-Wilson has a lawyer.Business owner Lisa Spear told WYFF-TV the operation is a kennel, not a puppy mill. Spear says the boys may have exaggerated after they were punished for their actions while Spear and Rion-Wilson were running errands.
