Flexiprint – Sri Lanka’s premier printing company – exclusively catering to the printing needs in the tea bag industry for tea bag tags and envelopes and tag pyramid mesh, won a prestigious award in the printing sector at the recently concluded National Business Excellence Awards held at Hilton Colombo.
The NBEA is organised annually by the National Chamber of Commerce to recognise the excellence of the business community in Sri Lanka in all business sectors.

Flexiprint (Pvt) Ltd is a company incorporated under the Board of Investment in the year 1994.
The company’s main interest was to serve the then growing tea bagging industry by supplying tea bag tags and envelopes.
Flexiprint Managing Director Sathis Abeywickrama is a specialist in servicing the value added tea industry since 1979.
Flexiprint has grown in parallel to the value added tea industry transcending many limitations which had inhibited the trade during that time. Internationally, Flexiprint is an important player in the tea trade as it caters to a worldwide selection of tea bagging companies for their requirements in tea bag tags and envelopes.
Being recognised with a National Business Excellence Award under the printing category – Flexiprint’s only line of business of supplying the tea bagging industry – is indeed a unique achievement since most other printing companies serve a diversified clientele in diverse sectors.
It is worthwhile to note that Flexiprint has achieved this significant milestone only after a short history of 18 years of which the initial two years had been dedicated to meticulous planning.
“Being recognised with a National Business Excellence Award is a unique achievement for Flexiprint as it proved its uniqueness and specialty in printing and supplying high quality customised tea bags, tags and envelopes including pyramid tea bags to the world,”   Abeywickrama.
“We won this award due to the dedication in keeping our customers happy while maintaining the essential factors in a business such as achieving a good bottom line with an endemic management system unique to Flexiprint. I have always encouraged my colleagues and workforce to come to work with a smile, start and do work with a smile and go home with a thousand smiles so that our products reach our much valued customers with all the smiles of our workforce that gives the blessings to our customers” he further added.  This philosophy helped Flexiprint to create and gradually increase a circle of happy and contented customers which increased day by day.
Knowing the demands of the customers in quantity and quality, Flexiprint was able to invest in new equipment and technology on a yearly basis to produce the best tea bag tags and envelopes that could be bought in Sri Lanka by the world’s tea bagging community.
Flexiprint also diversified to meet the demands of the tea bagging industry with new products such as the pyramid tea bag by supplying the most competitive type of pyramid mesh, string and tag in the nylon, soilon and non-woven categories supporting the growth of the pyramid tea bag industry locally and worldwide.
Flexiprint enjoys a 58% market share locally while exporting the balance to the tea bag manufacturers in Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Kazikistan, Ukraine, Russia, New Zealand and Australia, proudly sealing the exported tea with a Sri Lankan identity.
