SL does not need "international policemen"
Sri Lanka does not need international policemen to solve the country’s internal problems, External Affairs Minister G.L.Peiris told Parliament today.
“The Government is firmly for solving the country’s internal issues by itself,” the Minister said while winding up the committee stage debate of the External Affairs Ministry.
He said the Government rejects with disgust the suggestion made by TNA MP R.Sampanthan that there should be an international mechanism to look into human rights related issues in Sri Lanka. “There are dangerous undertones to his speech,” Minister Peiris said.
