Now MP Arundika Fernando says MP Range Bandara threatend him
UPFA Puttlam District MP Arundika Fernando who is at the centre of a controversy over the alleged assault in Parliament on UNP MP Palitha Range Bandara raised a privilege issue this morning in which said the UNP MP had threatened him.
“When he passed by where I was seated in the Chamber yesterday, he verbally threatened me by saying, “Let’s settle this in Puttlam,” MP Fernando said raising the privilege issue. Both MPs represent the Puttlam District in Parliament.
He admitted that on Monday the two had got into an argument in the MPs lobby which led to a physical altercation and he had to seek treatment from the medical centre in Parliament as a result.
MP Fernando asked the Speaker to look into the matter he had raised. Deputy Speaker Chandima Weerakkody said he would refer the matter to the Speaker.
