SriLankan Airlines starts Zurich Services

SriLankan Airlines says it will recommence services to European city of Zurich starting from today.

The Airlines says, Zurich which is its 58th destination in the global route network will see SriLankan flights operating to the city twice a week.

“The service will initially be twice-weekly on Monday and Friday and would be increased in the future”, added the Airline in a statement issued in this regard.

The national carrier has operated flights to this European destination since 1980, but has discontinued the service during the year 2005 due to lack of demand for the service.

SriLankan says, its Zurich service would benefit travelers of Switzerland, South Germany, Eastern France and Austria.

The airline is deploying wide-bodied Airbus A330 and A340 aircrafts to run the operations to the European destination.

The Zurich-Colombo flights will operate via Male.
