Tissa speaks about terrorists in the UNP

(Srilankamirror) - General secretary of the UNP Tissa Attanayake says he treats the mob violence at Sirikotha on December 19 as an act of terrorism.

He has told ‘Dinamina’ that all those who had acted in an unruly manner following the election for key party positions have brought disgrace to the party.

Mr. Attanayake has said the UNP had internal issues in the recent past and alleged that certain persons had tried to sabotage the party on behalf of the government.

If such extremists grab the party’s power it would spell disaster for the party, he said.

A committee headed by attorney Srinath Perera will investigate the mob attack and report back.
