Air Asia to launch Colombo - Bangkok direct flights

AirAsia, a low cost Airline operator is planning to launch daily direct flights from Colombo to Bangkok, starting from 1st of March, 2012.

The daily flights to Bangkok will leave Colombo at 9.35 am daily, while the return flight will start at 6.25 pm from Bangkok.

Airline in a statement issued said, they will offer a one way ticket at a price of Rs. 5,500 for a limited time period aiming to promote the new service.

“We are very excited to open this new route, which will open up a world of opportunities for people to shop, sight-see, and experience all the flavors that Thailand has to offer, at a very affordable price” says Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia.

The Airline also expect the new service to help Sri Lanka attract more visitors and business travelers from Thailand.

AirAsia is one of the largest low-cost carriers in Asia, servicing approximately 139 routes.
