A one woman show performed by UK actor Alison Skilbeck

British Council in partnership with the Sunera Foundation presents Alison Skilbeck’s hilarious and heart-breaking one woman show, Are There More of You? directed by Jeremy Stockwell.

Critically acclaimed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, with five star reviews, and with a residency at the King’s Head Theatre that prompted former Times Chief Critic, Irving Wardle to compare the performance to that of the great Ruth Draper, Are There More of You? is the tale of four women living seemingly different lives all on the verge of a nervous breakthrough, linked by the same postcode.
First there is Claire, bright, abandoned Ambassador’s wife, with blood on her hands: Italian Sophia, serving egg ‘n’ chips by day and osso bucco and Verdi by night, while upstairs Mamma seems set to last for ever, Sara, the local Spirit Weaver, all sweetness and light, unless you tangle with her, and Sam, bluff northern business woman, who’s always got on with men, but seems to be going home alone.
Alison Skilbeck has played a wide variety of roles in theatre, television, film and radio, including The Archers, Midsomer Murders, Miss Marple, Soldier Soldier, Doctor Who, Sherlock Holmes, Law and Order: UK, and has created roles in no fewer than six Alan Ayckbourn premieres.
Are There More of You will be held on 13 and 14 January at the British Council hall and will commence at 7.30 p.m. Tickets priced at Rs. 1000 and can be purchased from the British Council Library Help Desk between 9a.m. to 5.30 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday and 9a.m. to 3.00 p.m. on Sundays.
