Arjuna calls for sacking of cricket selectors
(Srilankamirror) - World Cup winning captain Arjuna Ranatunga says the national cricket selection panel should be sacked following Sri Lanka’ s poor performance in the United Arab Emirates and South Africa.
He has also accused the government of interfering with Sri Lankan cricket resulting in some senior players also making political comments instead of just focusing on the game.
Mr. Ranatunga has told Xinhua in an interview that he suspected the current selection process for the national team was based on political interference and not the merit and performance of each player.
