Ceylinco Healthcare Centre has launched a special package that enables gastritis patients to consult doctors and undergo certain tests which may be required, at a significant discount throughout January and February 2012.

The package, offered at an attractive and affordable fee of Rs. 3,500, consists of a full blood count, a stools test for occult blood, discussion with a dietician, consultation with an in-house doctor who will provide guidance on relevant additional tests and an appointment with a specialist. The specialist will take steps to effectively manage the condition after discussion with the patient, the centre said.
If an endoscopy or a colonoscopy is required, the package also offers a 10 per cent discount on these procedures to those who have obtained the package.
“This package is a convenient option for gastritis patients to fulfil a range of requirements pertaining to the treatment of the condition under one roof,” Ceylinco Healthcare Centre’s Senior Medical Officer Dr. Shyama Fernando said. “It also represents an opportunity for Gastritis patients who are yet to take measures to overcome the condition, to take the first step in this regard.”
Dr. Fernando noted that the detection and treatment of gastritis is important because lack of treatment could lead to chronic peptic ulcers and even cancer. Gastritis is one of the commonest recurring medical problems in Sri Lanka, and is on the increase due to a range of factors associated with stressful and busy lifestyles, smoking and consumption of alcohol, she said.
Anyone with a family history of bowel cancer should also take this opportunity to visit the clinic and discuss their options for early screening with a gastric surgeon, she added.
The Ceylinco Healthcare Centre operates a specialised Gastric Clinic which provides relief to people suffering from gastritis, reflux or heartburn and those complaining of abdominal discomfort, frequent belching, bloating and pain. It offers facilities for abdominal ultrasound scans, blood and stools tests, tissue biopsies and flexible fibreoptic endoscopy. The clinic provides consultation with a GI specialist and dietary advice from a qualified dietician.
Established in collaboration with the world renowned Washington Hospital Centre, the Ceylinco Healthcare Centre located at Park Street, Colombo 2, is a ground-breaking project of Ceylinco Healthcare Services Ltd., (CHSL) a subsidiary of Ceylinco Life, the country’s leading life insurer.
