The focus of the entire nation has now been directed towards the Gammedda 100-day initiative.

Three more projects which were competed under the Gammedda 100 day initiative, will soon be vested in the public.

Water project – Boralagama, Weligama

Project launch date: July 20,  2016

Almost completed

Clean drinking water project – Kiwulegama, Thanamalwila

Eighty (80) families in Kivulegama will receive clean drinking water through the project. (Read Story)

Almost completed

Clean drinking water project – Multiple villages, Hambegamuwa Gramaseva Division (with the assistance of Sri Lanka Navy)

Project launch date: August 1, 2016 (Read Story 1 and 2)

President Maithripala Sirisena, who saw the News 1st telecast of the water problem in Hambegamuwa, provided government support for the project.

Almost completed

Elephant fence – Kaeliyapura village, Pathalayagama, Hambantota

Project launch date: July 2,  2016 (Read Story)

The Kaeliyapura village has been affected by wild elephants for a long period of time. Through the Gammedda 100 day initiative, News 1st began the construction of an Elephant fence to help the villagers live their lives in peace, without fearing for their lives and all they have built.
