EMPLOYEES KILLED IN CENTRAL BANK BLAST COMMEMORATED.
In the meantime, employees who were killed in the Central Bank bombing are being commemorated. 41 Bank employees died in this attack.The commemoration took place at 10.49 a.m. the time in which the suicide attack took place. The commemoration was held under the patronage of Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabral. The Governor unveiled a plaque and a statue at the premises in memory of those killed in this incident. Bank employees and relatives of employees killed in the attack paid floral tributes to the statue.
Expressing his views on this occasion Governor Ajith Nivard Cabral said that the aim of the terrorists was to paralyse the island’s economy. However, Sri Lanka has today been able to achieve many victories. He referred to the economic growth achieved by Sri Lanka.
