Aluthgamage orders BoC to pay cricketers' wages
(Srilankamirror) - Sports minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage has ordered the Bank of Ceylon to settle the wages of members of the national cricket team, who have not been paid for over a year.
After several rounds of discussions between minister Aluthgamage, the bank and the cricket board, the BoC has agreed to release Rs. 600 million rupees to pay the dues, said a statement.
"Minister Aluthgamage also instructed the officials of Sri Lanka Cricket not to overlook contract payments in the future," it said.
