FCID seizes Ford Mustang allegedly used by Namal Rajapaksa
The Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division on Monday seized a luxury car allegedly used by MP Namal Rajapaksa.
The Ford Mustang was allegedly purchased by Namal Rajapaksa in 2010. The vehicle had allegedly been used for about six years and was sold to another individual several months ago.
Officers attached to the FCID on Monday afternoon, questioned the current owner of the vehicle.
Attorney-at-Law, Premanath C. Dolawatte noted that the vehicle was purchased on Namal Rajapaksa’s Parliament permit. There is a problem regarding the ownership of property.
Meanwhile, former Treasury Secretary P.B. Jayasundera was summoned to the FCID today to provide a statement over an ongoing investigation.
