The Belgium Ambassador to Sri Lanka has said that the future of the island which maintains a high economic growth is very much positive.The Belgium Ambassador Pierre Vaesen made this reference during a meet with Minister Basil Rajapaksa. Their meeting took place at the Economic Development Ministry. Their discussions centred on the future activities of the Buttala Drinking Water Scheme in Moneragala and the launch of a Drinking Water Project in Kolonne. The Belgian diplomat said that Sri Lanka was providing better facilities for foreign investors than other countries in the region. He revealed that many investors from his country are prepared to make investments in Sri Lanka.

Minister Basil Rajapaksa said that Sri Lanka’s economy had succeeded in achieving remarkable growth in a number of sectors. He emphasized that the country was able to achieve a high growth in sectors such as tourism and the provision of infrastructure last year. Uva Chief Minister Shashindra Rajapaksa was present at this meeting.
