Popular cricket commentator dies
Popular Sri Lankan cricket commentator and former curator at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC) Ranil Abeynaike passed away today after suffering from a heart attack. He was 57 years old.
Former Australian Test player and commentator at the ongoing tr-series in Australia Tom Moody said in a tweet that he was sad to hear about the death of Abeynaike.
“Very sad to hear of the passing of Ranil Abeynayake had the pleasure to work alongside this gracious man. RIP,” Moody said.
Cricket commentator Mpumelelo Mbangwa also tweeted on Abeynayake’s death saying it was terrible news.
