UNP continues focus on fuel hike issue

The United National Party (UNP) maintained its protest on the fuel price increase, despite the government focusing itself on the upcoming events at the UN Human Rights Council.

Opposition Municipal council members in Kandy arrived at the council with black arm bands in protest agaisnt the fuel price hike. They marched from the party office the Municipal council.

Seven opposition members of the Matara Pradeshiya sabha led by
Lionel Kodikara also came on bicycles to attend the monthly meeting
 in protest of escalating fuel prices.

Nihal Dalawella, Pani Rohitha, J W Gunasekera, Dhammika Hettiarachchi, Vasantha Weerasingha and Imal Liyanage cycled to the Pradeshiya sabha from Kekanadura and said they hope to do so untill such time that the price of fuel is reduced
