Collecting money on the pretext of setting free war heroes by the likes of Bandula Gunawardene, Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila is but a fraud says Attorney at Law Ajith Prasanna adding that already the needed Rs.2 million has been collected but they continue to collect the money.

He said collecting money on the pretext of helping war heroes has become a racket carried out by Parliamentarians of the Mahinda faction as they do not help war heroes but market them to collect money.

He said people like Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila, who had stated that war heroes would be sacrificed only over their dead bodies, were not present in Court during the hearing either.

It was stated in Parliament that the case against the war heroes that the Court decided to release on Rs.2 million bail was filed by a group including G.L. Peiris and at the time they were ministers in Mahinda Rajapaksa administration.

Attorney at Law Ajith Prasanna said he was pressurized not to hold the press conference by a close associate of Namal Rajapaksa but he had told the person that he was not a member of the Mahinda faction and he would hold the press conference as planned.

However, Attorney at Law Ajith Prasanna was seen participating in the protest march held by the Mahinda faction recently.
