Printcare ensures zero counterfeits at the Roy-Tho

The annual Royal-Thomian cricket match is more than just a game and is an eagerly looked forward to event by all those who have attended these two schools.

For the 133rd encounter, and for the second year running, the security of the tickets was impregnable. “Printcare’s cutting edge and easy to use anti counterfeiting technology has meant that we have had zero cases of counterfeit tickets in the last two years.” commented Mahesh Nanayakkara, a member of the joint organising committee.
Printcare used the latest available security print technology in producing the tickets, the same state of the art printing technology and materials the company uses to print millions of pre paid reload cards, scratch lottery tickets and promotional game cards for the local and export markets.
“The tickets were printed with overt and covert security features. Certain basic security features will enable the spectators and the security guards at the gates to authenticate the tickets easily at a glance,” commented Ranga Suriarachchi, an old boy of Royal College and General Manager of Printcare Secure.
“The use of scratch games on the tickets is an innovative new approach we have used successfully to reduce the incentives for people buying counterfeits. Those buying the counterfeit items could potentially lose out on attractive prizes and so would think twice,” added Suriarachchi.
Selected as a Business Superbrand, Printcare is a leader in the printing and packaging industries. Well known for being the global leader in tea bag tags and envelopes, supplying the worlds most reputed tea brands, Printcare is now a diversified group which is also a leader in printing and packaging for the apparel and FMCG sectors, security printing for the lotteries and telecom industries, printing and binding for the publishing industry, and specialised digital media services.
