SLC Announces Resource Team for #CT17

Colombo 02nd May 2017, Sri Lanka Cricket today at a press briefing held at its headquarters announced its resource team for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2017 in England and Wales.

Accordingly, the resource team will field the experience and expertise of;

1. Asanka Gurusinha – Team Manager, 2. Ranjith Fernando – Tour Manager, 3. Graham Ford – Head Coach, 4. Allan Donald – Consultant Fast Bowling Coach, 5. Nic Pothus – Fielding Coach, 6. Nick Lee – Trainer, 7. Ajantha Wattegama – Physiotherapist, 8. Sriram Somayajula – Analyst, 9. Rohan Priyadharshana – Masseur

National Captain Angelo Mathews expressed his contentment stating that

We are indeed grateful to SLC for providing us with all the support we need both in terms of technology and expertise. I have been given the best possible team and the resource personnel that have been supporting us are nothing short of fantastic. The addition of a legend like Allan Donald will be an invaluable step up for us especially in English conditions. It is now up to us to give it our all in the middle and firmly raise the flag on high” – Angelo Mathews

Sharing his views on Allan Donald’s consultancy, Manager Cricket Asanka Gurusinha added;

“I am most pleased that this administration is quite literally pulling out all the stops when it comes to strategic investment in the cricketing area. Sri Lanka has all the talent in the world, but needs a solid injection of technology and expert input to get it where it needs to be, and that is exactly what this administration is giving it” – Asanka Gurusinha

The resource team will be in residential training with the National Squad from the 2nd of May onwards on Colombo and then Kandy prior to their departure from Sri Lanka on the 18th of May.
