Restrictions on reconditioned vehicle imports relaxed
The Government provides relief to problems encountered by vehicle importers.
Accordingly, the age limit for reconditioned cars has been increased to two years from the previous limit of one year and the age limit for commercial vehicles has been increased to four years from the previous limit of three and a half years.
A discussion between President Rajapaksa and representatives of the Vehicle Importers Association was held at Temple Trees yesterday. Taking cognizance of the submissions made by these representatives, the President issued instructions to the relevant officials to initiate action to amend the period of import of vehicles. Deputy Minister Geethanjana Gunawardena, Finance Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundera, President’s Chief of Staff Gamini Senarath and President of the Vehicle Importers Association Yoga Perera were among those present at this meeting,
