Korean biz leaders get briefed on Lankan opportunities

President Mahinda Rajapaksa, this week met a group of leading Korean business delegates on the sidelines of his state visit to the East Asian nation.
During the meeting, the business delegates were apprised of the current situation in Sri Lanka and the vast opportunities for trade, investments and tourism for Korean companies in the country. Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business Executive Vice Chairman Jae Hee Song, Federation of Korean Industries Vice Chairman and CEO Byung Chal Jung, Korean Exporters’ Association Chairman Lee Ju Jae and Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Sohn Kyung Shik held discussions with President Rajapaksa.

Later, Chairmen of Hanjin Group, Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering and Lotte Group of Companies discussed available investment opportunities in Sri Lanka with the President.
Speaking to four Korean conglomerates, President Rajapaksa said Sri Lanka was able to provide a robust new investment destination today as a frontier country to the rest of the world.
