Delightful strudels by Chef Bernhard at Hilton Colombo

The Hilton Colombo adds an array of the popular baked dessert, the Strudel to their cuisine this May. The delectable desserts are set to be prepared by the award winning Austrian Guest Chef Michael Bernhard.

The strudels will be available at the Thorana Lounge High Tea Buffet between 18 and 27 May from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. where guests and visitors can indulge in a delicious variety of strudels.
The Sous Chef at the exquisite Five Star Vienna Hotel Imperial, Chef Bernhard has also had the privilege of being a Juror in the ‘Tastingjusr’ at the ‘jeune Meilleure boss’of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. Chef Bernhard will work alongside the Hilton team to prepare a range of strudels that will complement the finest teas and luxurious spread at the Hilton High Tea. The strudels will be meticulously prepared at Hilton Colombo in rich luxurious flavours.
Commenting on the arrival of Chef Bernhard and the special range of strudels available at High Tea, Executive Chef Rohan Fernandopulle at the Hilton Colombo stated: “The Hilton Team look forward to the arrival of Chef Bernhard. We are honoured to have Chef Bernhard here with his extensive expertise and experience bringing the best flavours from the range of strudels available to our guests.”
Strudels are a type of layered pastry which incorporates a sweet or savoury filling in the centre. Strudel lovers can look forward to some of the best known strudels such as the renowned Apfelstrudel, which is a delicious apple strudel; Beerentopfenstrudel, a beer infused cheese strudel; Milchrahmstrudel, a succulent milk and cream strudel; and Kirschenstrudel, a tantalising cherry strudel.
In addition to this mouth-watering array there will also be a Chef’s Special range available for guests. Marillenstrudel, also known as apricot strudel, and Weintraubenstrudel, a delicious wine grape strudel, will be specially prepared for guests to indulge in during their tasteful High Tea experience.
The arrival of the prominent Chef Bernhard and the scrumptious strudels available at the Hilton High Tea adds to Hilton Colombo’s anniversary celebrations.
