Jetwig Hotels wins eight TripAdvisor certificates of excellence

Proving once again that their brand of traditional Sri Lankan hospitality is their greatest strength, Jetwing Hotels has been awarded eight new Certificates of Excellence from the world’s largest travel site, TripAdvisor. Having received four last year as well for Jetwing Beach, Jetwing Lighthouse, Jetwing Vil Uyana and Jetwing Warwick Gardens; Jetwing Sea, Jetwing Blue, Jetwing Ayurveda Pavilions and the Galle Heritage Villa by Jetwing bring the total to eight awards.

An accomplishment in its own right, the total of eight Certificates of Excellence marks Jetwing Hotels as one of the most acclaimed resort chains in Sri Lanka. The criteria for the Certificates are simple, yet complex as they require a consistent high ranking in quality reviews as well as user rating. The vision set forth close to 40 years ago has undeniably grown, with this family owned company embarking on a remarkable expansion drive to double room inventory within the next three years.  The four properties awarded by TripAdvisor this year are Jetwing Ayurveda Pavilions, which is also the island’s first purpose built health oriented wellness resort dedicated to the principles and ancient art of Ayurveda; Jetwing Sea, originally the Seashells Hotel built by the late Herbert Cooray, Founder Chairman of Jetwing which was re-launched in January 2011 after a massive re-investment. The property has grown to its full potential under the supervision of Bawa protégé Murad Ismail, and offers a cosy ambience ideal for family; Jetwing Blue, the first property in the Jetwing chain of resorts and formerly known as the Blue Oceanic Beach Hotel, lovingly transformed to a sprawling 112 room hotel offering the best in comfort and MICE facilities with its 600 pax capacity Ballroom; and the Galle Heritage Villa by Jetwing, set within the Galle Fort which is steeped in the history of cultures from all over the world. The Certificates given out last year to Jetwing Beach, Jetwing Lighthouse, Jetwing Vil Uyana and Jetwing Warwick Gardens have been renewed for 2012 as well.
“Being recognised by a prestigious organisation as TripAdvisor; actually due to the reviews left by our visitors shows that they have loved their stay with us at Jetwing which is exactly what we set out to accomplish from the very beginning,” said Jetwing Chairman Hiran Cooray. “With the growth of the Internet and its ability to connect anyone anywhere, reviews are important as they allow us to see a visitor’s perspective and adapt accordingly. With eight of our 14 properties (currently) having Certificates of Excellence, I look forward to achieving the same status for all our hotels.”
