Sierra Global gets recertified for ISO 9001

Sierra Global Network Pvt Ltd, one of the leading telecommunication infrastructure development and managed services company, has recently got its ISO 9001 quality management system certification revalidated.
It obtained the prestigious ISO certification in 2009, and it underwent three years re-certification program successfully which was undertaken by the global leading quality standards auditing firm, Bureau Veritas of France.  

As per the standard rules and regulations of the ISO body, any company obtained ISO certification is required to go through a full re-certification process in every three years period.
“Three years ago Sierra Global achieved the ISO certification after lot of hard work and much focus on quality, and it is important to note that we were the first company in Sri Lanka to receive ISO 9001:2008 certification in the telecom infrastructure development sector where we stand tall in the industry amongst our competitors. We are continually focusing on the Quality in every project company undertakes and aiming continues to be the best in the industry,” Sierra Global Director and CEO Dr. Arosha Fernando said.  “During the audit process, over 25 staff members have been directly audited where they have spent three days in the office and one day in the field visiting sites in Kurunagala and Gampaha which the Auditors have picked randomly and observed our activities of Managed Services as well as some telecom equipment installation work. Audit of all our Units, Divisions and business processes has been successfully completed, and Sierra Global has been re-certified after the tedious audit undertaken,” Dr. Fernando added. The International Organisation for Standardisation widely known as ISO is an international standard setting body composed of representatives from 162 countries out of the 205 total countries in the world.
Founded in 1947, the organisation promulgates worldwide proprietary, industrial, and commercial standards and having its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
 ISO is the widely accepted quality standard globally today.
