Nilaveli Beach Hotel, Tangerine Beach Hotel earn 2012 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence

Nilaveli Beach Hotel, Trincomalee and Tangerine Beach Hotel Kalutara have received the prestigious TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award.
The accolade, which honours hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor, and is extended to qualifying businesses worldwide. Approximately 10 per cent of accommodations listed on TripAdvisor receive this prestigious award.

To qualify for the Certificate of Excellence, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor. Additional criteria include the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.

The locality of Nilaveli and Trincomalee has much to offer from fauna and natural beauty to historic and cultural significance. The hotel has 23 standard rooms and 22 deluxe rooms with either balconies or private patios from where you can sit quietly with your morning cuppa and watch a magnificent sunrise over a vast isolated beach. For nature lovers this is paradise indeed.
Unique marine life and coral are abundant in the clear emerald waters, and the ocean is famous for dolphin and whale watching – the Blue Whale, Byrde’s Whale and the Sperm Whale being the most sighted among the 12 species found there. Diving, snorkelling and fishing equipment and tours can be organised through our PADI centre, including local guides.
Pigeon Island is now identified as a national park by Wild Life Authorities and was originally used by the British during world war two for target practice. Today, the island is a breeding ground for blue rock pigeon and a resting site for other migratory birds. The island is a couple of hundred meters off pristine shores of Nilaveli beach and perfect idyllic location to sunbathe and enjoy a secluded picnic  
Tangerine beach hotel consists of 166 rooms, a presidential suite and six suites, each one complete with expansive ocean views from your own private balcony or patio.
The hotel caters to all banqueting requirements and has a range of facilities to meet your every need. A luxury spa set in a secluded natural mangrove overlooking the Indian ocean, has a beauty salon and an Ayurvedic centre for pampering. Nilaveli Beach Hotel was established in 1974 and Tangerine Hotel was set up in 1982. They come under the Tangerine Group of hotels umbrella and both resorts are pioneers in the east and south west coast of Sri Lanka.
