First Tourist Hotel opened in the Kuchchaveli Tourism Zone

The first Tourist Hotel built within the Kuchchaveli Tourism Zone in Trincomalee has been opened.

Jungle Beach, the new state of the art Holiday Resort was opened by Minister Basil Rajapaksa this morning. Many programmes are being launched in the Trincomalee District to uplift the tourism industry after the complete elimination of terrorism. Accordingly action is being taken to build luxury tourist hotels.
The expenditure incurred on the Hotel was in the region of 750 million rupees. It is equipped with 48 luxurious circuit bungalows. Although the hotel has come up on an extent of 10 acres, it has been built in an environmental friendly concept. Only three trees from the entire extent of land had been felled for the building of the hotel. It is located close to the Nilavalley beach.
The Project will generate 225 direct and indirect jobs for the people of the area. Expressing his views on the occasion, Minister Basil Rajapaksa said that only goods vital for the hotel project were imported. It is commendable that all other goods have been met locally.
Present on this occasion were Eastern Governor Mohan Wijewickrema and Director General Sri Lanka Tourism Authority Vipula Wanigakasekara.
