Richard Pieris Tyre dealers rewarded

The Annual Dealer Award Ceremony, ‘Success Trail – Top Dealer Awards – 2012’ of Richard Pieris Tyre Company, branded as the family get-together of tyre distributors in the country, was held recently at the Eden Resort and Spa, Aluthgama.

This was held with the participation of Group Director of Maskeliya Plantations PLC, a Subsidiary of Richard Pieris PLC Dr. Anura Ekanayaka, Group Director Richard Pieris PLC & Managing Director of Local Manufacturing and Distribution Sunil Liyanage and Directors of the company. Baiju Radhakrishnan, Vice President of Birla Tyre India, graced the ceremony as a special guest.  
Top 60 dealers and their families were selected from over 1,500 dealers island-wide including the Northern and Eastern Provinces. This is the most awaited annual event by the tyre dealers in the country and very well popular amongst the group as the annual party for the whole family.
A total of 50 finalists for the ‘Success Trail – Top Dealer Awards – 2012’ were selected from dealers who distribute ‘Arpidag’, ‘Arpico’ and ‘Arpi Radial’ manufactured in Nawinna, Kurunegala, Kandy and Weligama factories and 10 were selected from the Birla Tyres (India), Altima automotive battery and ‘Arpithree Superstar’ three wheeler tyre dealers.
To encourage the staff and dealers, the company added more categories to recognise who helped them to achieve success throughout the year. Certificates, cash prizes and foreign tours were given to the winners and this year best dealers were selected from both retreading and trading departments. Apart from this key change of award categories, Best Provincial Winner and an award for Brand Excellence were presented.
H.M. Wasantha Kumara, proprietor of Asiri Tyre Traders, Negombo became the best dealer by winning both retreading and trading categories. In the retreading category M.H.T.J. Shanthirathna of Shanthi Tyre Mart – Dikwella and W.A.W.W. Sisira Kumara of Sisira Tyre House – Rambukkana won the second and third prizes respectively. P.A. Sunil Pemarathne of Auto Tyreways – Anuradhapura and I.A. Karunathilaka of Hiruni Tyre House – Pannala received the second and third place awards for trading category.
General Manager of Richard Pieris Tyre Pradeep Samarathunga addressing the gathering at ‘Success Trail – Top Dealer Awards – 2012’ said: “Our main focus is to increase the quality of the products every day, deliver the products to you on time and to continue Arpidag tyre as the most cost effective tyre in the market. We have plans for the future and are in the process of introducing a radial tyre with high standards to the light commercial vehicle and passenger car category. We have already introduced Birla tyres for motor cycles and three wheelers.”
