Second phase of ticket sales for ICC World T20 Cup ends on high note

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that the successful second phase of ticket sales for the ICC World Twenty20 Sri Lanka 2012, concluded on the 30 June with more than 100,000 tickets sold. Tickets for the ICC WT20 SL 2012 will now be back on sale on 1 August.

Ticket sales will re-commence on that date, and will be available only at box office sales locations and via online booking by logging onto www.icc-cricket.com. No tickets will be sold at MoneyGram outlets during the next phase of ticket sales. Tickets can also be collected on 1 August and buyers must produce their NIC or valid passport and receipt confirming their purchase to redeem their match ticket at any box office – regardless of the location from where the reservation was made.
The first phase of the ticket sales began on the 26 March while the second phase was launched on the 12 June. The third and final phase which begins on the 1 August and continue until the start of the tournament in September. None of the matches are currently sold out and tickets for all matches will be released in the final phase.
The ICC World Twenty20 Sri Lanka 2012 is the first time the ICC World Twenty20 is being held in Asia. The matches will be held in Colombo, Pallekele, and Hambantota as well as Galle, where the women’s group matches will be staged. There will be no charge for the women’s group matches.
