RO-RO carrier MV ‘Favourite Ace’ marks maiden call at MRMRP

The Ro-RO vessel MV ‘Favourite Ace’ belongs to Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd; and Mitsui O.S.K.Lines Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd; as the local agents recently called at the Hambantota Magan Ruhunupura Mahinda Rajapaksa Port (MRMRP) with 106 units of vehicles for trans-shipment via the brand-new port.


The vessel built in November 2006 and operated under the flag of Panama sails at a speed of 21 knots. The 199.99m vessel has a cargo capacity of 5231 units. The port rotation of MV ‘Favourite Ace’ is Shanghai, Tianjin, Inchon, Kunsan, Nagoya, Kanda, Yokohama, Singapore, Hambantota, Port Sultan Qaboos, Jabel Ali, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Bharain, Dammam and Kuwait.
To mark the maiden call of MV ‘Favourite Ace’ at the brand new Hambantota Magan Ruhunupura Mahinda Rajapaksa Port a special plaque exchange was also held onboard between Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) and Master of the vessel Capt. Candido Selda Agoncillo.

Manager Operations Dinesh Gomez , Mitsui O.S.K Lines Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd Operations Executive Nalaka Alwis; Mitsui O.S.K Lines Ltd Marine Technical Group Manager Capt. Takehiko Matsushita and Capt. Mistui O.S.K Bulk Shipping (Asia Oceania) Pte. Ltd Marine Technical Manager Dibyendu Banerjee was also present at the occasion.
