NTB partners National Exchange Company of Italy to extend global remittance network

Nations Trust Bank, a key player in the financial services industry is today one of Sri Lanka’s fastest growing banks  and has  signed up with a number of remittance partners worldwide to offer quick and convenient transactions   across an ever increasing branch network.

The bank recently entered into a partnership with National Exchange Company of Italy (NEC), a licensed Money Transfer Company incorporated on 22 April 2003. The principal activity of the company is international money transfers and foreign exchange. Currently NEC extends its services to more than 150 countries having more than 125,000 customers in Italy. The company also has a network of 244 branches in all major cities in Italy.
This tie-up will enable Sri Lankans living in Italy to remit money to rupee and foreign currency accounts at Nations Trust Bank or to rupee accounts at any other bank.  Through this service funds could also be collected over the counter at any of one of the 52 Nations Trust Bank branches, which are open 365 days with extended banking hours.
Commenting on the partnership DGM Retail and SME Banking at Nations Trust Bank Keshini Jayawardena said: “We are proud to sign up with National Exchange Company of Italy, a reputed money transfer company and offer our customers a convenient and fast remittance service through our network that is operational 365 days with extended banking hours, thus offering customers unparalleled convenience.
We look forward to a growing partnership with the National Exchange Company.” Echoing Jayawardena’s comments, National Exchange Company Chairman Idrish Farazy said: “We consider this partnership key to promote remittance services to Sri Lanka which is a key market for us and we look forward to exploiting Nations Trust Bank’s expanding network to offer residents overseas a fast, affordable and secure money transfer service through National Exchange Company. Nations Trust Bank’s reputation as a reliable and customer-friendly bank forms the perfect alliance for us.”
Nations Trust Bank has 52 branches, seven Personal Banking Centres and is the sole issuer and acquirer for American Express cards in Sri Lanka.  Nations Trust Bank has now gained additional recognition and accolades by winning the title of ‘Best Private Bank in Sri Lanka’ awarded by the prestigious World Finance Awards in the UK. It was first recognised by World Finance in 2011.
