Haroon Lorgart appointed as an advisor of SLC

Sri Lanka Cricket has appointed former ICC Chief Executive Officer Haroon Lorgat as a special advisor to the Board.

Lorgart, who concluded his term at the ICC last month, has agreed to work with the SLC in an advisory capacity until the 31st of October 2012.

Announcing the appointment, SLC President Upali Dharmadasa, said “Mr. Lorgat has a wealth of knowledge and experience and we are delighted that he has agreed to work with us to improve the governance and administration of our Cricket”.

“As a Board we are determined to tackle the challenges we face and to exploit the opportunities for the betterment of SLC. Mr. Lorgat is a seasoned administrator and I am excited that with his expertise we can work towards building a strong and sustainable future for SLC.” added Dharmadasa.

Lorgat, while taking over the new role has said that he is eager to assist SLC to tackle their issues and improve their standing in the World of Cricket.

The former ICC Chief Executive has also said, in his view he has built up good knowledge and experience over the years and is willing to share this for the benefit of the game.
