Christine Sonali to compete today at the Olympics

U.S. born, Sri Lankan women’s 400 meters Hurdler Christine Sonali is expected to compete today at the London Olympics.

She will compete in the heat 5 of the event with eight other competitors.

Christine is not considered as a medal prospect at the ongoing Olympics as her timing is way behind most of the contenders.

Her personal best stands at 56.83 seconds in running the 400 meter hurdles event while Jamaica’s Melaine Walker who is in the same group which Christine competes has a personal best timing of 52.42 seconds.

Walker is already an Olympic medalist in the same event as she gained success in the Beijing Olympics.

Around 40 competitors are taking part in the women’s 400 meters hurdles at the London games.

Meanwhile, the Men’s 100 meters semi-finals and the finals also will be held during the evening hours of today.

All eyes will be on Jamaica’s Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake who are top two favorites to win the title.
