Unilever’s Pears to make millionaire children

Unilever – Pears, the most trusted baby toiletries brand in the country with a history of more than 50 years of caring for the nation’s infants and young kids, is offering the parents a golden opportunity to make their children millionaires by the time they reach the age of 18 years.

Introduced as a Consumer Reward Program, the Pears ‘Make your Child a Millionaire’ campaign aims to reward its loyal customers who have children below the age of 10 years. Under this program, customers are encouraged to send-in three Pears soap wrappers or one multi pack wrapper to P.O. Box 758 Colombo. The child’s age should be written at the top of the envelope. Winners will be selected through a raffle draw which will be held once a week.
“The wrappers we get from consumers will be channeled into a raffle draw and the selected winners will receive a savings deposit certificate worth Rs. 1 million from Pears  exclusively from Commercial Bank to the customer. The winning children could claim their money of Rs. 1 million when they reach the age of 18 years,” said Anya Dalpadado, Assistant Brand Manager – Pears.
Discussing the thinking behind this reward scheme, Kasun Liyanage, Senior Brand Manager – Pears said: “The main objective of any parent is to help their child have a better future. However, the ever changing economic and market conditions does not allow this comfort level to all parents alike. Therefore, as a brand that is close to the hearts of the local people Pears has come forward to do our duty to help our loyal customers in a big way that would help their children realise their life ambitions.”

The famous ‘Pears Safe Hands Project’ that has been in operation since 2002 is a live CSR initiative that travels to many corners of Sri Lanka renovating and upgrading maternity, neonatal and paediatric wards of Government hospitals.
