Etisalat Lanka secured a Gold, Silver and Bronze at the recently-concluded SLIM NASCO Awards 2012. The NASCO Award is Sri Lanka’s premier sales award forum; recognising excellence in the sales profession. The winning sales personnel from the Etisalat team were Dilanjan Ranasinghe, Heshan Paranawitane and Suranga Thalgahagoda.

Dilanjan and Heshan who represent the Etisalat Corporate Sales Team won the Gold and Silver awards, respectively, in the Front-Liner of the Year category and Suranga from Dealer Services won the Executive of the Year Bronze award.
Having working in various other parts of the telecom industry, Dilanjan began work at Etisalat five years ago and currently functions as a Senior Corporate Business Associate.
Commenting on winning the Gold Award in the Front-Liner of the Year category, Dilanjan said: “This is the first we have competed at national level and taking part in NASCO was a different experience and quite challenging but thanks to the immense support and encouragement from the company we were able to shine.”
“I’m thankful to the company for giving us the opportunity to take part in NASCO and be part of the experience,” said Heshan, who won the Silver Award in the Front-Liner of the Year category.
Suranga, the winner of the Executive of the Year Bronze Award, said that while he had previously won numerous accolades within the company, this is the first time they were given the opportunity to take part in a national competition.
“Everyone at Etisalat supported us and gave us guidance on important areas and while I didn’t think we’d win, the company believed in us and I’m proud to win this for Etisalat.”
This is the second time Etisalat has taken part in NASCO and commenting on the awards, Etisalat Lanka Chief Sales Officer Sanjeewa Samarasingha said: “I was delighted to see my team winning three awards at the SLIM NASCO Awards 2012. They have been working for Etisalat over a good period of time and their commitment, dedication and new thinking are a strength to the whole company. It is not an easy task for a sales person to achieve this award. Excelling in sales takes a lot of effort, personal sacrifice and perseverance and our team has displayed they have more than what it takes. It was my great pleasure to see them on stage, representing Etisalat proudly as they always have.” Etisalat’s success at NASCO 2012 is a resounding testament to the effectiveness of their global policies on people; giving everyone equal opportunity to develop and contribute their best, and providing employees with an environment which is continually challenging and professionally rewarding.
“Winning these three awards for sales excellence differentiates our employees from others to be high performers. Our prime HR focus is on developing individuals to their best of their potentials; challenging them to grow into leaders and giving them the means to have a rewarding professional career in the industry.  By winning these awards our team has displayed their resilience in wanting to be leaders in the market.   We thank our winners and wish them much success,” said Etisalat Lanka Head of HR Srinath Fonseka, speaking on Etisalat’s three wins at the NASCO Awards 2012.
