Nawaloka Hospital offers 27th anniversary discounts
Sri Lankan private healthcare pioneer Nawaloka Hospital will be celebrating its 27th anniversary tomorrow and as a reward for its loyal customers, the hospital will be offering a number of discounts beginning from 18 September, until the end of the month. Discounts of 10% will be made available to customers on dental and lab services, while 5% will be taken off Mammograms, LASIK screenings and DEXA bone density scans.
Starting operations on 18 September, 1985, with the vision of providing tomorrow’s healthcare today, while at the same time continuing to be affordable for everyone, the Nawaloka Hospital has been at the forefront of bringing the latest in medical technology to Sri Lanka. Further, the hospital was the first to locally operate a dedicated Intensive Care Unit (ICU), in 1985, and Coronary Care Unit (CCU), in 1994, as well as introducing Laparoscopic Surgery (1993) and Thoracic Surgery to the country.
In addition, Nawaloka Hospital’s commitment to medical investment has been key to its success in the local private healthcare industry over the years.
Besides recently acquiring Sri Lanka’s only 3.0 TESLA Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanner, the Siemens MAGNETOM Skyra 3.0, which enables the most accurate and fastest diagnostic treatment today, the hospital was also one of the first in the country to introduce CT scans (1987), Mammograms (1992), Cardiac Catheterisation (1994), MRI scans (1995) and laser eye surgery (2005).
Meanwhile, the hospital also currently features 14 operating theatres, including dedicated operating theatres for Orthopaedic, Neurosurgery, Cardiac Surgery, Maternity and Gynaecology, which are considered state-of-the art because of their use of Laminar flow technology, ceiling mounted LED theatre lamps and higher grade Anaesthesia units, as well as access to digital x-ray units and four-dimensional (4D) digital ultrasound scanners.
At the same time, the Nawaloka Hospital was also the first hospital to be recognised with the National Quality Award in the year 1998, for its commitment to professional ethics and for offering international quality healthcare to Sri Lankans. The hospital’s standards were also further upheld by consecutive ISO 9001 quality management systems certifications in 2000, 2004, 2007 and 2008, with the 2012 certification in progress.
