Chief Ministers pledge to strengthen Government

The newly appointed Chief Ministers have assured their maximum support needed from the Provincial Councils to strengthen the programmes launched by the President.
Sabaragamuwa Chief Minister Mahipala Herath assured that they will continue to work to achieve the targets of the President. He was optimistic that they would receive the blessings of the President as well as the blessings of the Government Ministers and Parliamentarians to fulfill their responsibilities to the maximum within the next five years.
North Central Chief Minister S.M. Ranjith described his appointment as a portfolio given to him by the people. He said he expected to his best specially on behalf of the peasants. He pointed out that he is ready to the develop the North Central Province in parallel to the Mahinda Chinthana.
Eastern Chief Minister Najeeb A Majeed assured that he will look into the needs of the Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim communities. He said his intention was to work in unity with all the communities.
